Outlook & Key Projects
The outlook for completions continues to strengthen as industry attrition tightens available frac capacity, pricing momentum improves, and Permian drilling activity recovers. ProPetro’s management plans to activate a thirteenth frac fleet later in Q3, reflecting growing customer demand.
On the power side, PROPWR continues to accelerate, increasing contracted generation capacity by approximately 110 MW during the quarter to roughly 350 MW while advancing more than 100 MW of additional oil and gas opportunities and several hundred megawatts of data center discussions. The successful deployment of assets at a Midwest hyperscaler marks an important milestone, demonstrating that PROPWR has transitioned from development to commercial execution.
Q2 Performance Analysis

Hydraulic fracturing led the recovery in Q2 2026, with revenue increasing ~16% sequentially as higher fleet utilization reflected improving completions activity. Wireline revenue declined about 7% following a particularly strong first quarter, while cementing revenue increased roughly 15% as activity normalized.
PROPWR delivered the strongest growth, with revenue rising more than 320% quarter-over-quarter as contracted assets entered service. This provides early evidence that the platform is beginning to convert its commercial pipeline into operating revenue, even as it remains in investment mode.
Cash Flows and Capex Guidance:
PUMP’s operating cash flow fell sharply in 6M 2026 compared to a year ago, while the free cash flow turned negative.
ProPetro lowered its 2026 capital expenditure guidance by 2.6% to $525-$595 million, driven by the timing of FORCE electric fleet buyouts rather than weaker demand. The company expects PROPWR to begin delivering positive, increasingly meaningful earnings in 2H 2026 while continuing to prioritize disciplined execution across contracted deployments.
